High West Midwinter Nights Dram

This is a fairly limited release whiskey that starts with High West Rendezvous Rye, which is then finished in used Quady port barrels and new French oak barrels. 

Nose: The rye forms a beautiful base of vanilla, caramel and cinnamon; the port barrels enhance with plums and dried fruits; the French oak provides a spice accent.
Color: Burnished Bronze
Palate: Like Christmas in a bottle.  A full on Christmas plum pudding, crème brulee’ with dried fruits a nd mulling spices

Finish: Lingering notes of dried fruits, clove, cinnamon and mulling spice.

Compass Box Hedonisim

Nose: Cocoa Butter, pastry cream, oak, vanilla, light citrus and spice
Palate: Cream and coconut, Cherries, spice, light oak , cocoa, faint cereal notes, Silky mouthfeel
Finish: Lingering and smooth, light oak and vanilla

High West Rendezvous Rye

This expression of High West is a blend of a 16-year-old rye from Barton Distillery and a 6-year-old LDI (now MGP) rye.  The LDI Rye being a 95% rye mashbill and the Barton being an 80% rye mashbill

Nose: Rye spice, cinnamon stick, clove, vanilla, peppermint, and burned sugar, green apple
Color: Medium Gold
Palate: Pronounced rye spice, cinnamon, clove, mint, vanilla, caramel, and candied fruit.
Finish: Medium length finish with pronounced lingering rye spice, cinnamon, clove and vanilla.

Four Roses Single Barrel


Nose:  Rye spice, Caramel, Vanilla, chocolate, raisins, flowers, light oak
Palate: Vanilla, light spice, honey and maple syrup, ripe fruit (peaches, plums, pears, cherries), smooth and mouth coating
Finish : Smooth and long finish, with a lingering spice that picks up on the finish (more than on the immediate palate), old leather, and fruit.

High West Double Rye

This expression of High West is made up of a blend of a 2-year-old Rye made by LDI (now MGP) and a 16 year old made by Barton Distillery.  The LDI Rye being a 95% rye mashbill and the Barton being a 53% rye mashbill.

Nose: Soft, light rye nose, botanicals, menthol, mint.
Color: light to Medium Gold
Palate: Medium Rye forward flavor, pepper, clove, honey, caramel, licorice.  The young rye definitely commands this dram and its youth really comes through on the palate.
Finish:  Medium length finish with soft lingering rye spice.
